Souk Al Marfa to host month-long night market this Ramadan

To mark the holy month of Ramadan, Souk Al Marfa the waterfront souk and marketplace at Dubai Islands, will be hosting a daily night market from 1 to 30 April starting from 8 pm to 2 am.

As part of the market’s daily programme, Souk Al Marfa is collaborating with the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) to host free iftar tents for 150 people every day from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, which will then be transformed to a food hall from 8 pm onwards. The night market will also encompass a range of Majlis tents featuring Arabic sweets and relaxing lounges as well as over 35 kiosks that sell a range of Ramadan-related products such as oud perfumes, Jalabiyas, dates and more.

Muath Abdelkader AlRais, General Manager at Souk Al Marfa, said: “We are pleased to be hosting our first Ramadan night market at Souk Al Marfa. Ramadan marks a momentous occasion and creates an opportunity for us to engage with our customers in new and interactive ways. We look forward to welcoming visitors of all ages to our waterfront destination and wish all the ones who are observing Ramadan a blessed month ahead.”

Visitors can also enjoy roaming entertainment along the destination’s outdoor area including Egyptian folklore, Arabic dances, musical performances as well as indoor activations such as face painting, arts and crafts and more. There will also be a dedicated outdoor play area for kids to enjoy.

More than 950 shops currently operate at Souk Al Marfa with another 200 set to open soon across various categories such as carpets, lights, spices, fashion, electronics, as well as the authentic Thai and Persian markets.  Souk Al Marfa’s operating hours in Ramadan are from 12 pm to midnight from Monday to Thursday, 2 pm to 2 am on Friday and 12 pm to 2 am on Saturday and Sunday.
